No budgetary margin for more expensive service vouchers: sector is disappointed | Domestic

Last week, employers called on the authorities to increase the trade-in value of the service voucher by 5 euros from January 1. Many companies are making losses as a result of sharply increased costs. However, Minister Brouns pointed out that there is no budgetary margin for a more expensive service voucher.

“After the cry for help from the service voucher sector at the end of last week, the three employers’ federations were received by the cabinet on Monday afternoon, September 11. Although the facts from the investigation are certainly not contradicted by the government, no perspective is given for a solution in the short term,” it said today.

Federgon, Zorggezind and the Vlaams Platform Dienstencheques say they are disappointed, but still combative. “Unfortunately, we can only draw one conclusion after the consultation,” said the various employers’ federations. “There is no solution in the making to maintain services to 750,000 Flemish families and the jobs of 90,000 domestic helpers. As an employers’ federation, we will continue to strive to keep this theme in the attention of the press and public opinion.”
