The Mannes soap in short
The artificial dog Mannes has been standing in front of the station in Assen since October 2018. There was a lot to do about the dog, because the artwork cost 150,000 euros. Assen could not enjoy Mannes for long, because lime stripes soon remained on him. Then the synthetic resin layer came off. Assen had to allocate 90,000 euros for the repair work. The municipality believes that the artists should pay these costs. Nio and QS Serafijn say that the bill should be sent to wood processing company Doornekamp, which in turn passes it on to VMG.
