No blue-green algae in the canal: triathlon Izegem will no longer take place in August

Normally the triathlon is organized on OLV Ascension, 15 August. Then, however, the canal is often plagued by blue-green algae. For several years, swimmers have not been able to swim in it. The Izegem Triathlon Club has decided to move the event to OLH Ascension, about four months earlier.

The winner of this edition is 25-year-old Dadizelenaar Jasper Sabbe. He dedicates the victory to his sports partner Kasper Lagae, who took his own life two years ago.
