No arrests yet after riots in AZ stadium

After the match against West Ham, things got out of hand in the AZ stadium last night. After the whistle, riots broke out. The police say they have not yet arrested anyone for the disturbances in the stadium.

AZ lost the semi-final of the Conference League to the English club yesterday. The disturbances started in the main stand: invited West Ham fans were attacked when they started cheering.

AZ supporters of the fanatical supporters behind the goal broke through a fence that separated their stand from the main stand. They immediately sought confrontation with the West Ham supporters and could only be driven back when the Mobile Unit (ME) came into action.

“No arrests were made in the stadium last night,” a police spokesperson told NH. “The police went to the stadium to restore public order. The focus was on that.” She is sad that the evening turned out this way. The police plan to review CCTV footage to find out who misbehaved.
