No arrest yet for explosions in Heerhugowaard, police start digital neighborhood investigation

The police have started a digital neighborhood investigation in the hope of receiving tips about the two explosions on the Middenweg in Heerhugowaard last weekend. About 600 email addresses were contacted for this purpose. No one has been arrested yet, a spokesperson said.

Last weekend, the North in Heerhugowaard was shocked by no fewer than two explosions. The first went off at a home around three o’clock on Friday night. The second happened a day later around the same time, about twenty houses away.

The police hope for tips and camera images from the digital neighborhood investigation.

Explosion wave connection?

Police cannot yet say whether the two explosions are related. It is also not clear whether these incidents are related to the explosion wave in North Holland in recent months. “The investigation is still ongoing. So far we have not found a link, but we are keeping all options open.”
