No admission for NPD politician Claus Cremer – the board member of the right-wing extremist party was denied a visit to the stadium of the regional football club Wattenscheid 09 at the weekend.
Impressive sign in the fight against right-wing extremism in German society at regional football club SG Wattenscheid 09: Last Sunday at the championship game of the 1st team, NPD board member Claus Cremer also wanted to visit the Lohrheide stadium.
The 43-year-old, who is well-known in Bochum, was recognized when he tried to pass through the stadium gates by supporters of the Bochum district club, who loudly drew attention to Cremer. As a result, the folders of SG Cremer refused entry to the stadium. Cremer is a member of the party executive of the extreme right-wing National Democratic Party of Germany (NPD), which is monitored by the Office for the Protection of the Constitution.
House ban already in June
Already in June of this year, Cremer was banned from Lohrheide after he tried to cheat his way into the stadium with a press accreditation for the then promotion game of Wattenscheider against Westfalia Rhynern.
“Cremer is not a small light in the NPD and is known here in the region as a well-known face of right-wing camaraderie,” explains Christian Pozo y Tamayo, board member of SG Wattenscheid to wdr.de. “He has already been sentenced for hate speech. We don’t want people like that in the stadium,” said Pozo y Tamayo.
Written justification was handed over
When Cremer was banned from the house in June, he had demanded a written justification for this step. It could now be handed over to him on the spot – in the presence of the police. “We had by chance completed the document the day before and were able to hand it over to him directly in the presence of witnesses. That closed the case for us,” says Pozo y Tamayo.
For the time being, Cremer will no longer be able to watch football games in the Lohrheide Stadium in Wattenscheid.
