The website of the railway company NMBS is online again. The website has been down since Thursday morning due to a cyber attack. This is what spokesperson Bart Crols reports.
“The NMBS website was the subject of a large-scale DDOS cyber attack at 2 a.m. last night. “It concerns an attack via a series of requests addressed to the ‘web resource’, with the aim, among other things, of undermining the capacity of a website to handle the requests received,” it said.
The protection system then came into effect, making the website inaccessible for a while. Crols says that a complaint will be filed with the competent authorities.
The app also experienced problems earlier, but these were resolved around 7:30 am. These problems were separate from the cyber attack, Crols explains.
