The digital information screens in the Brussels train stations have been given a new layout. The other stations in the country will follow later this week.
The new design, with a separate line for each train instead of blocks on the overview screens, has been tested in recent months in the stations of Brussels-Luxembourg, Dendermonde and Nivelles. The screens in Brussels stations received the new layout on Tuesday.
“This concerns all screens in the stations: in the waiting rooms, at the entrances, in the underpasses and on the platforms,” says NMBS spokesperson Dimitri Temmerman. “The aim is to make the information more readable, also for the visually impaired, and to be able to provide additional information in the event of disrupted train traffic,” such as canceled stops, trains that are limited or replacement buses.
For example, passengers can also see the second train that will stop at that track on the departure screens on the platform. And all stops of the first four expected trains will be shown on screens in smaller stations.
The new layout will be visible in all stations during the week.
