NMBS is renovating toilets in Bruges and Kortrijk
The existing toilets in the fourteen stations will be gradually renovated over the coming months, with partial or complete renovations. It has not yet been definitively determined by when all stations must be ready.
“Indispensable”
The NMBS calls sanitary facilities “indispensable in busy stations”. Those toilets must also “meet certain quality requirements in terms of availability, cleanliness and safety”. With the new uniform concept, there will be night toilets, all facilities will be accessible to people with reduced mobility and an intercom will be available 24/24. The staff will be able to be deployed flexibly, based on how busy the station is, it still sounds.
Entrance will cost 1 euro, except for children under 1.20 meters. Those who have to pay will receive a discount voucher that can be used in one of the shops in the station. How much that discount will be varies from station to station.
Co2 neutral
Finally, the new concept makes it possible to significantly reduce the consumption of energy, water, paper and soap, and 2theloo compensates for the CO2 emissions, so that the toilets will have to be completely CO2 neutral.
The renovated toilets can soon be found in the stations of Antwerp Central, Mons, BrugesBrussels-Central, Brussels-North, Brussels-South, Charleroi-Central, Ghent-Sint-Pieters, KortrijkLeuven, Liège-Guillemins, Mechelen, Namur and Ottignies.
