NL-Alert sent for raging fire at business park in Etten-Leur

An NL-Alert has been sent out because of the raging fire that has been raging since half past nine in the morning at the Axell Logistics company on the Hermelijnweg in Etten-Leur. Thick, jet-black clouds of smoke can be seen above the business park for miles around. People are advised by the security region to stay out of the smoke.

The fire broke out around half past nine at this international transport company on the Vosdonk business park. Initially, a meter box fire was reported to the fire brigade. But the fire brigade quickly scaled up, due to the presence of a lot of PET bottles in the warehouse and the size of the building. Various fire trucks have come to Etten-Leur from all over the region. The fire is also fought from cherry pickers. Firefighters are trying to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby buildings.

Three people in the building
At the time the fire at Axell Logistics was discovered, three people were in the building. According to a spokesman for the safety region, they were able to flee in time.

“The fire started in a small corner, but is now raging throughout the building,” said a 112 correspondent around a quarter past ten. “The bulkheads are now falling off the side. The building is going down.”

True death contempt
Several cars were parked near the building. “They drove away the people present with true contempt for death.”
