Nitrogen crisis: other CDA departments also want more support from The Hague

Once again there are regional CDA departments in Brabant that want the national CDA and the States faction to take action against the nitrogen plans. This time the call comes from five municipal councilors. Earlier, five Brabant CDA departments around the Peel nature reserve also spoke out.

These are factions in Bernheze, Oss, Meierijstad, Maashorst and Boekel. “We call on not to support this policy and to find a balanced solution in consultation with all sectors,” the parties wrote in a joint statement.

Last week, five municipal CDA departments from Asten, Deurne, Laarbeek, Someren and Gemert-Bakel also made an appeal. In North Limburg, the departments in the municipalities of Horst aan de Maas, Peel en Maas, Venray, Nederweert and Leudal also participated.

Nitrogen Policy
The series of calls is not without reason. Last week it became clear that the nitrogen policy will have very far-reaching consequences for some farmers in Brabant, especially for farmers around nature reserves.

Nitrogen emissions must be drastically reduced and that will certainly be at the expense of farms around nature reserves. Many farmers around the Peel and the Kampina will have to disappear.

Farmer Marjolein de Wit is number seven on the CDA’s electoral list in Deurne and lives right next to De Peel. She is also disappointed in her party:
