The handball players from Norway have successfully defended their European champion title. In the final in the Slovenian capital Ljubljana on Sunday (20.11.22) the Norwegians beat Denmark by 27:25 (12:15).

For the Norwegian selection it was the ninth title at a European Championship. In the middle of the second half, Denmark was still leading 22:18, but it wasn’t enough to win. Norway’s Henny Reistad scored the game’s decisive goal and was also recognized as the tournament’s Most Valuable Player.

Montenegro celebrates the bronze medal

Co-hosts Montenegro surprisingly won the match for third place after extra time 27:25 (22:22, 13:12) against Olympic champions France. The German selection finished the tournament, which was held in Slovenia, Montenegro and North Macedonia and thus for the first time in three countries, in seventh place.
