Görner defeats Edelmann at the Power Tower

At 18, Max Görner is one of the new generation of ninjas. The newcomer only made his debut at Ninja Warrior Germany last fall and made it straight into the final as the youngest candidate of the entire season.

At his Allstars premiere, Görner continued his convincing performances from the previous year and prevailed in his first two duels against youngsters Jean Arisa and Karim El Azzazy. At the Power Tower he then met fellow favorite Oliver Edelmann.

In an extremely close encounter, Görner prevailed against the “Last Man Standing 2016” and thus secured his final ticket. “I didn’t expect that at all,” said the youngster after his victory at the Power Tower: “My goal was actually to survive the first lap and buzz.”

Noppinger lives up to the role of favourite

In addition to Görner, three other ninjas secured their place in the final. In the women’s category, Stefanie Noppinger lived up to her role as favourite.

After the reigning Last Woman Standing of the regular season defeated Alina Schwärzer in the first round, she also got the upper hand against Natalia Wisniewska in stage two. Viktoria Krämer was then waiting at the Power Tower, who ultimately could not pose a threat to Noppinger despite a strong increase.

Tobias Plangger and Benjamin Grams (fastest participant in the preliminary round) completed the final. While Plangger was able to put Yasin El Azzazy in his place, 29-year-old Grams prevailed against Marvin Mitterhuber.

What did the stages look like?

In the first round it was about the arrow jump to the swinging spoke with a pendulum trunk. Then the wheel change waited before the dominoes wanted to be mastered. After the ring hunt, which required arm strength and speed as usual, the only thing separating the athletes from the buzzer was the wall.

The second stage contained five obstacles. Those who didn’t fall into the water on the surfboards found themselves in front of the springs. It went to the beehive via the hanger carrier. Finally, the ninja had to climb the chimney.

In the third and final round, the notorious Power Tower decided on the allocation of final tickets.
