Ninety years of ‘North Pole ice cream’ in New Amsterdam: ‘Only the recipe is a secret’

Arctic ice, in New Amsterdam and the surrounding area it is a household name. Ninety years ago, the business opened on the canal in Nieuw-Amsterdam and today it is an indispensable part of the village.

People can just see how the ice cream is made,” he explains, while he is mixing different ingredients. And they still do it by hand the old-fashioned way. “In the traditional way.”
