Media personality Nina Mikkonen, 58, will turn two years old next year. Mikkonen will celebrate his 60th birthday in July 2024.

However, Mikkonen does not think of the accumulation of years as an age crisis, but thinks of aging as a positive and even liberating thing.

– It’s wonderful to be this age when you are. Age is a nice thing because even though it brings all kinds of trouble when it comes, age is also terribly liberating. If you punch someone in the face, the world won’t come crashing down on it. You’re already starting to know who you are and that’s wonderful, says Mikkonen.

Nina Mikkonen is known for, among other things, the Mikkosten Maaila program. Matti Matikainen

Mikkonen says that he had an age crisis when he turned 30.

– I remember my age when my mother and my brother’s wife at the time came to greet me and brought gifts. I burst into tears. For some reason, thirty was such a milestone for me that I thought life was all downhill after that.

Physical signs

Mikkonen does not feel that his physical and mental age meet. She says that it still takes her time to internalize aging.

In particular, Mikkonen names recovery as a physical sign from which he notices that he has aged. Mikkonen uses the example of debaucherous evenings, after which it may take days to recover, even if he does not drink alcohol.

– Physics tells us that there are no twenty-somethings here anymore, Mikkonen laughs.

– Back then, when you were younger, you didn’t have to recover. We went to work with the same eyes and then possibly went to comb the misses somewhere on the ship, and it didn’t feel like anywhere, says Mikkonen.

Mikkonen was married to a late journalist Timo TA Mikkonen with from 2001 to 2017. The union ended with the man’s death. The Mikkos have two children together – Matias and Mikael.

Mikkonen acted as a caregiver for her late husband Timo TA Mikkonen for years, before the man passed away in 2017. Mikkonen says that she has been able to survive great adversities and move on with her life thanks to her good attitude. Wading in deep waters has made Mikkos humble in the face of life. After the difficulties, he has learned to appreciate life more.

Mikkonen is currently filming the Mikkosten maila program. Mikkonen says that the program will be announced later in the spring. Mikko’s world was shown in 2009 on Nelose. Since then, the Mikkos have made a series for YouTube.
