Niko Kovac remains coach at VfL Wolfsburg: “Performance is answer enough”

Draw against BVB saves job

The question of whether Niko Kovac can remain coach of VfL Wolfsburg has been answered for the time being. A good performance by the team in the 1-1 (0-1) draw against Borussia Dortmund apparently saved the ex-professional’s job. Once again he received the trust of the club management when there were doubts about the Croatian’s whereabouts.

VfL is still winless this year and has only won two of the last 16 games in the Bundesliga. Sports director Sebastian Schindzielorz said after the Dortmund game on Saturday when asked about Kovac’s future: “Today’s performance is answer enough.” The team had shown again “that they are willing and that they have passion.”

I didn’t really want to post anything else while Kovac is the coach. But I’m now just sure that there is only one reason for this: the separation in the summer has already been decided and Schäfer wants to somehow end the season with this coach. Otherwise he would have given him leave long ago. They want a successor that won’t be available until summer. There would only be an interim solution if you were in danger of relegation.
This is all logical in and of itself and makes…
