Nikkie Plessen has amassed millions and millions with her fashion empire and she loves to show it off incredibly. Holidays, private jets, boats, parading through Amsterdam South, relaxing on the terrace at De Joffers; It really gives you the creeps. But how long can she continue that life? Is there shit going on?

‘Not going well!’

Is Nikkie Plessen’s fashion brand doing well? Yvonne Coldeweijer comes across countless messages from stores that are putting everything from the ‘NIKKIE’ brand on sale. What’s going on with that? “NIKKIE is not doing well 👀,” the juice queen wrote to her today sap channel.

What then? “I did some research and spoke to several spies and I now understand why stores are stopping selling NIKKIE en masse. Many stores are very bothered by the fact that they have to purchase a collection that often costs at least 8,000 euros, but after five weeks Nikkie Plessen puts the new collection on SALE on her site and in her own stores. 😳”

Strict Nikkie

Well, don’t those stores just do that? “The stores that have purchased are not allowed to do this! Nikkie made them sign very strict conditions. 🤦‍♀️ And so you get the feeling that you have to compete with Nikkie herself! That is of course not possible for the shops,” Yvonne explains.

She continues: “In addition, many stores notice that the popularity of the name NIKKIE is decreasing. 🥲 The clothes are too expensive and times are changing! Many customers do not have a few hundred euros left to spare fast fashion. Stores are left with entire collections and therefore decide en masse to stop them!”

Million dividend

What has Quote discovered in the meantime? That Nikkie and her husband suddenly pay out enormous multi-million dividends to themselves. “We saw a dividend payment of no less than 4.5 million euros in 2022. This was in addition to the 2.5 million euros that the couple had already allocated to themselves in 2021.”

The business magazine finds this striking because profits have fallen sharply. Not a disaster in itself, but: “What does raise questions is the cash flow statement. More than 2 million euros in hard cash flowed from the daily operations of the fashion company. A bleeding that Plessen and Bontekoe managed to stop by quickly fishing 2.8 million euros from the household pot.”

Nervous

Nikkie reacts a little nervously to Quote’s questions. The RTL Boulevard star fears a negative publication. “She hopes that we can write ‘something nice’, because ‘irresponsible benefits do not occur with us’.”

She has no appetite for ‘negativity’. 2022 was also ‘a really good year’, she texts the magazine from a shoot. And about those strange cash flows? She and her husband sometimes lend money back to the company, so that there is enough money available there, she confirms. “Pretty normal too.”

Bottom of cash register

Quote is not convinced. According to the magazine, that loan appears to be insufficient. “At the end of 2022, only 5.2 million euros in liquid assets remained, compared to 12.8 million euros a year earlier. The bottom of the cash register seems to be quickly coming into view. Perhaps, in retrospect, the dividend payment was not such a smart plan.”

Nikkie denies it all. She says she just bought a lot of ski suits. Seven million euros on ski suits? It will soon be crowded at the ski lift in Ischgl…
