Nikkie de Jager just misses the film role: “From the Netherlands? Leave it then” | celebrities

celebritiesNikkie de Jager (28) is known to many as ‘NikkieTutorials’ on YouTube, where she makes makeup videos. Her channel has a worldwide reach, but the Dutch are also popular as a media personality. Last year she presented the Eurovision Song Contest, now she is in the front row in Cannes. There she reports for TikTok. Nikkie could almost add another film role to that impressive list.

De Jager told RTL Boulevard that she was present at the world premiere of ‘Doctor Strange’ in Hollywood a few weeks ago. As she left the room, a woman spoke to her. She thought Nikkie was the perfect candidate for a role she had to cast.

The woman worked on ‘Suicide Squad’, among other things, so Nikkie saw her chance. Full of enthusiasm she gave her mobile number to the filmmaker. But when the latter saw that it was a Dutch song, the mutual enthusiasm disappeared. “From The Netherlands? Leave it then,” it sounded.

The YouTube star would love to act. “But if I do it, I want to do it right,” says Nikkie. “Not a small role, but a big role. Preferably international.” She had previously received offers from Dutch filmmakers, but always for a smaller role. “Then I’d rather wait a little longer,” De Jager concludes.

‘Chilling’ Eurovision Song Contest

Nikkie is not wildly enthusiastic about this year’s Eurovision Song Contest. “I found it cringe-inducing. It just made me appreciate more how well we had everything in order last year. The chemistry between us was also much stronger. I’m sorry, I really look like such an asshole right now. But I didn’t think it was all that great,” she says.
