Musician Billie Eilish and the US sportswear retailer have collaborated on a more sustainable version of the ‘Air Force 1’ sneaker model.
The ‘Nike Air Force 1 Billie’ consists of 18 percent recycled material, Nike announced on Monday. The upper is made of synthetic nubuck, which consists of 80 percent recycled material and only recycled polyester is used for details.
“The challenge and opportunity with this collection was to respect the originals but make them my own,” says Eilish. “It was also important to me to incorporate eco-friendly materials wherever possible and present them in a way that feels fresh.”
The shoe and a matching capsule are kept in a mushroom-colored tone. In addition to the shoes, there are t-shirts, sweaters and jogging pants in an oversized look. The entire collaboration will be available on Nike platform Snkrs from April 25th.
