Noika Island, in the Maldives, was proclaimed the first “Gentile Island” in the world. She will be attentive to sustainability and recycling.
Ari Atoll Island joined of the International Kindness Movement engaged since 2020 in spreading the universal value of Kindness.
Nika Island in its beauty fully embodies the value of kindness and seems to be unaffected by the weather nor to the dynamics of mass tourism that is redefining the very essence of the Maldives.
Nika Island, the first “Gentile Island” in the world
The commitment is to translate the concept of gentle tourism through concrete social and cultural projects for the benefit of the ecosystem, between traditions, science and nature.
An ambitious alchemical experiment with simply unrepeatable contours.
Which contemplates the “Path of Values” dedicated to the inhabitants and visitors of the island in the name of awareness and the good practice of meditation.
And the Nika Green Path, a commitment protocol in the pursuit of sustainability and recycling (to name just a few ongoing projects),
Since 2017 the Nika Museum preserves and promotes the culture and traditions of the atoll, to coral farming and reef conservation, which have been preserving this invaluable natural heritage from human interference and climate change since 2018.
Ten good practices
The proclamation ceremony saw the signing of the “Manifesto of Isola Gentile” with the ten good practices that indicate the way of kindness in the presence of the founder and inspirer of the movement Daniel Lumera.
«Kindness – specifies Daniel Lumera – is capable of overcoming any type of cultural barrier because it is a universal language that speaks through the intelligence of the heart. I am happy that Nika has concretely accepted the path of kindness, immediately declining it in social, environmental and tourist projects”.
Also present were the international coordinator and ambassador Felicia Cigorescu, by the owner of the Nika Island Resort Giovanna Bellazzi and by the Honorary Consul of Italy in the Maldives Giorgia Marazzi, representing our country, in the presence of guests and employees of the resort, tourists and inhabitants of the island.
Kind Tourism
«No act of kindness, however small, will ever be wasted» concludes Felicia Cigorescu and continues on the International Kindness Movement.
«We want to bring a new form of tourism to the world: Kind Tourism, based on shared human values and respect for the environment and the ecosystem».
Respect for nature above all
Values like kindness, optimism, forgiveness, gratitude and happiness generate a high biological, vital, emotional, mental, social and spiritual impact, directly affecting our DNA and telomeres, the “caps” of our chromosomes identified by science as indicators of well-being, health and longevity.
The Movement, therefore, presents itself as a positively contagious viral wave that disseminates, promotes and spreads Kindness and the Biology of Values in the social fabric through the six pillars of well-being: happy relationships, proper nutrition, meditation, physical exercise, art and music, and contact with nature.
