In addition to the support of the municipality, the athletes themselves are also taking action, for example, the hall will be better insulated this year. Baylé: “We have conducted research into it. It shows that we can reduce energy costs by twenty to thirty percent by placing an extra insulation blanket over the hall. We immediately took on the investment as a foundation. We hope that this investment will 7,000 euros yields a reduction.”
The korfball players of DOS ’46 are very happy that they succeeded, because the airdome is an important place for the village and the sports associations. “The korfball club has 385 members. We have 26 teams, train 30 hours a week in the hall,” says Lucas van DOS’46. “The hall is indispensable, I can be short and sweet about that. Without the hall we cannot exercise in our village. Here is a happy man because this was a black birth.”
According to Baylé, the foundation will soon be working on a long-term plan. “We are consulting with DOS’46 and are going to set up a working group to look at broader solutions for the further future. Perhaps there is an alternative energy source, such as propane. Perhaps gas prices will fall next year and it will then cause fewer problems. We are there now sharp, so there will be no more surprises.”
The hall is currently being finalized, including the floor still to be laid. From Tuesday you can play sports. It will remain until March next year.
