Nightwish singer Floor Jansen’s breast cancer surgery has apparently been successful. “Great news! I’m cancer free,” Jansen wrote on Twitter. “The surgery removed everything that was cancerous and it hasn’t spread.”
“I’m getting my energy back after the surgery and I’m very relieved that it was successful,” Jansen continued. From February she will start local radiotherapy to prevent the cancer from returning. Jansen made her breast cancer diagnosis public in October.
great news I am cancer free ? The surgery took everything cancerous out and it hasn’t spread! I’ll get local radiation therapy in February to make sure everything stays out.

Despite the diagnosis, Nightwish didn’t want to cancel the upcoming European tour. And indeed, Jansen was on stage at the opening concert on Sunday, November 20th in Antwerp, Belgium, proving impressively that this was not false optimism.
Thank you for your amazing support and well wishes ????

“It has only been 3 weeks since I returned from our Latin America tour and had to have surgery to remove my breast cancer,” Jansen wrote on Twitter afterwards. “And last night I was back on stage, in front of you, and with my brothers. What an incredible feeling!”
We did it! ? Just over 3 weeks ago I returned from our Latin American tour, having to undergo surgery to remove my breast cancer. And last night I stood on the stage again, in front of you and with my brothers. ❤️ What an unbelievable feeling! Thank you all once again, really. pic.twitter.com/gQTJL2LqN6
