Niederlechner three times: Hertha BSC overwhelms SV Elversberg in the 2nd league

Hansa lost 2-0 at KSC

Thanks to a hat-trick from Florian Niederlechner, Hertha BSC stayed in touch with the top regions of the table. Coach Pal Dardai’s team won 5:1 (2:1) against newly promoted SV Elversberg in the Olympic Stadium on Sunday. After several lost leads in the last few weeks, the Berliners decided the game early this time. In front of 33,097 spectators, Linus Gechter (12th minute), Niederlechner (23rd, 61st and 67th) and Jonjoe Kenny (71st) scored for the home team. Thore Jacobsen (15th) made it 1-1.

The Berliners jumped to eighth place and are now three points behind the Saarlanders. On Wednesday, the capital club will host Hamburger SV in the round of 16 of the DFB Cup (8.45 p.m./Sky). The hosts were lucky not to concede several goals in the first ten minutes. Your own goals in the first half were more of a coincidence. The Saarlanders failed to clear the ball twice in the five-meter area. Gechter and Niederlechner, who scored in the third game in a row, converted the rebounds. Jacobsen equalized with a shot from around 20 meters, which Ernst only saw late.

The guests had other good opportunities. Unlike last time, the Berliners took advantage of their chances after the change. Niederlechner scored with a shot from the turn that seemed durable. Maurice Neubauer deflected the 4-1 intolerable. Kenny scored with a powerful ball from the backcourt.

SC Paderborn defeated Hannover 96 late in the majority

SC Paderborn has stopped its downward trend after two defeats in a row. Lukas Kwasniok’s team won 1-0 (0-0) against favorite opponents Hannover 96. After Florent Muslija’s very late arc lamp goal (90th + 1), the Paderborn team are undefeated, at least in the direct duel with Hanover, even after the ninth meeting. However, the guests had to survive outnumbered for a long time because Loius Schaub was shown a red card in the 20th minute after a foul.

However, the guests were not very impressed by this. Hannover stood deep in their own half, defended well and Paderborn initially missed too many chances. Ilyas Ansah and Kai Klefisch (2nd minute) and after the break Kai Muslija (47th) and Sebastian Klaas (65th) had the best opportunities. It wasn’t until stoppage time that the home team scored: a cross from Muslija landed straight into the goal net.

Hannover, now five points behind third-placed Hamburger SV, is in danger of losing contact with the top group. Paderborn is still in the middle of the table in tenth place.

Hansa Rostock squandered a 2-0 lead at Karlsruher SC

Substitute Budu Zivzivadze saved Karlsruher SC a lucky point in the basement duel in the 2nd league against FC Hansa Rostock. The Georgian striker equalized from close range in the 81st minute to make it 2-2 (1-2), after Hansa had previously dominated the game for long stretches and had already led 2-0. Junior Brumado (16th minute) and Damian Roßbach (34th) initially scored for the guests in front of 23,159 spectators, Igor Matanovic (44th) was able to reduce the deficit for KSC shortly before the break.

Zivzivadze had recently secured a 4-1 win for Baden against 1. FC Nürnberg after coming on as a substitute with a brace shortly before the end. KSC remains 14th in the table with 17 points. in front of the Rostock team with the same points. Both are one point ahead of the relegation place.

The Karlsruhe team initially seemed insecure and hardly had any chances to score. Rostock, on the other hand, was effective: Brumado shot the guests into the lead at the first opportunity after an assist from strong playmaker Svante Ingelsson. Then it was Roßbach who, left alone by the sleepy Karlsruhe defense, increased the score to 0-2. After Matanovic shortened the score shortly before half-time, the Karlsruhe team got into the game better in the second half. But after a short period of pressure, Rostock took control again. Then Zivzivadze scored after a mix-up in Rostock’s defense to make it 2-2.
