Nicolette van Dam joins the Israel debate: ‘By popular request’

We had to wait a few weeks for it, but now it is here: Nicolette van Dam’s statement about the war between Israel and Hamas. “A lot of people want to know that from me.”

It is unclear why, but the most random celebrities are suddenly very actively involved in the discussion about the war between Israel and Hamas. Whether they have any knowledge of it at all is secondary, but they all come up with the most firm opinions: from Koen Kardashian to René van der Gijp’s wife. Vanity, critics say.

Nicolette’s opinion

Well, for the day with it: what does Nicolette van Dam think of it? “Children without drinking water, children who have been kidnapped for a long time, children who are terrified every day and night from the explosions, plumes of smoke, or the air raid sirens that go off. Thousands of children who can no longer play without worries. Thousands of children who are no longer alive,” she writes.

She continues Instagram: “Many people ask me why I haven’t said anything yet about the horrible situation in Israel and Gaza. It’s because I can’t find the words to describe how sad I find it that thousands of children are victims of a conflict in which they play no role. Children can’t be children now.”

‘No matter what’

It has to stop, Nicolette thinks. “Don’t forget that children are extra vulnerable in these types of situations. They should never be a target and must be protected… No matter what their origin or religion. I hope and pray every day that there will be peace and that children will be safe.”

All those statements from celebrities feel a bit perfunctory. In Nicolette’s other stories we see how she was very busy with a Halloween party at the same time. In recent weeks she has also mainly been celebrating; on holiday, with the family. And now, ‘by popular request’, her Gaza opinion follows.

‘Now I’m going to party!’

It is not easy for the stars to combine those two worlds. Monique Westenberg, usually the girlfriend of André Hazes Jr., also has difficulty with this. She was furiously approached yesterday by someone who believes that she is not highlighting the Israeli side of this war enough. “Fuck with all those egos and feel with your heart!”, she then shouts.

If people continue to discuss with her, Monique will have had enough: “That’s it. And now we are going to have a children’s party!”

Great plan.
