FOOTBALL – Nico Haak will be promoted within the youth academy of FC Emmen after this season. After the summer, the Under 18 trainer will transfer to the Under 21 selection, where he will succeed Ruud Jalving, who exchanges FC Emmen for ACV.
Haak, who is in his second term at the Drenthe professional club (from 2006 to 2011, the trainer who lives in Emmen was already working for the youth academy of FC Emmen and the then combination RJO Heerenveen/Emmen), also remains head coach of VV Hoogeveen. He is in his fifth season with that club and is currently at the top of the Sunday league A.
Promotion to Division 3
In his first year as trainer of FC Emmen Under 18, Haak was promoted to Division 3. Last week the title was secured in the home game against Fortuna Wormerveer (7-0). FC Emmen O18 only lost on the opening day of Cambuur Leeuwarden O18 this season. The rest of the matches were won.
