‘Nick & Simon hate each other’

Rob Goossens throws some extra oil on the Nick & Simon rumor fire. He’s analyzed some backstage footage of the gentlemen and says, “You’d almost think they hate each other.”

The rumors about receipt between Nick Schilder and Simon Keizer continue. The gentlemen will be in Eva Jinek’s talk show next Monday and there they would announce that they are breaking up. They will shout in front of the stage that they are ready for a new challenge, but behind the scenes there would really be a deep conflict.

“They hate each other!”

Rob Goossens throws some extra fuel on the fire. His program RTL Boulevard was present last weekend at the performance of Nick & Simon at the ZAND festival in Almere and showed some backstage images yesterday. Images of the closing applause are particularly striking: all band members hold each other’s hands, except for Nick and Simon.

The relationship seems seriously cooled, according to Rob. “Of course we don’t know officially what the two of them are going to do yet, but when you see the signals like this you think: okay, it’s not that it’s a little less cozy between the two, but you would almost think that they hate each other.”

Looking straight ahead

According to Rob, the images say enough. “They don’t look at each other, they don’t hold hands while thanking the audience, so they stood side by side with their eyes straight ahead.”

He continues: “Of course we have to say that it is partly also projection, because we have heard that things are not going so well between them and suddenly everything you see is proof that the two are just not ready to kill each other yet.”

Used to be cozier

Still, according to Rob, it is really obvious that something is going on. “It was more fun before and they had those one-twos when they were on television together.”

Colleague Luuk Ikink: “Travelling together and such. It always looked very amicable.”

Rob: “Exactly and last Friday they were on television and suddenly it was very business-like and they actually went for a weird number.”

External elements

Luuk: “But that projection is also somewhat fed by all kinds of external elements, such as Nick’s wife, who suddenly no longer follows Simon.”

Private boss Evert Sankrediets in his podcast: “It is a strange thing what is going on there. You can see it in the whole energy of those two: it’s gone, it’s ready and they want to continue independently of each other.”

Nevertheless, Nick & Simon will enter the theaters one more time next fall. For the money? “You can say that.”
