Wouke van Scherrenburg has to prepare for her performance in the talk show Media Inside just looked at the new Nick & Simon program, but Strandgasten cannot appeal to her in any way. What does she think? “I really find it on such an incredibly sad level.”

‘It’s really rubbish!’

Strandgasten revolves around Nick Schilder, Simon Keizer and their good friend Kees Tol who invite famous artists to the beach to make music together. Most of all, there is a lot of laughter. “Those men supposedly make witty remarks, but I didn’t understand the joke of one remark,” says Wouke.

She continues: “They are forced to laugh at each other. I held on for five minutes and then I thought: I’m really not going to do that, I’m really not going to look any further. I think it’s really dredger.”

Big low

Marcel van Roosmalen fully agrees with Wouke. “Yes, this is really a low point. If you watch this without sound or you watch this as a foreigner: this can hardly be called television anymore. Here you see four men together laughing all the time at each other’s comments.”

He continues: “That Kraantje Pappie was hidden in a coffee stall. That is of course no surprise at all, but it is a lot of laughs when that awning opens. And for the rest a little sport on the beach.”

Crazy

The allegedly quarreling Nick and Simon also behave very coldly towards each other in this program, says Tina Nijkamp. Their bosom friend Kees therefore acts as a kind of lubricant.

But that Kees is also not to be seen, Marcel concludes. “That’s kind of the craziest of the three. You have to have that in Volendam, but maybe not on national television.”
