Nick Schilder denounces the media’s firmness about alleged quarrels

Nick Schilder is annoyed by the firmness with which the show media reports that he has a fight with his musical colleague Simon Keizer. “They’re just pretending it’s a hard truth.”

Many show media nowadays present it as a fact that Nick & Simon are separating because Nick Schilder and Simon Keizer are said to be arguing with each other. RTL Boulevard reporter Aran Bade, for example, states that the gentlemen are currently acting that they are still friends. “Behind that you can really see that things are no longer going well.”

Too assertive

Nick doesn’t think it’s the show media’s choice to present his alleged feud with Simon as fact. “You shouldn’t let it upset you too much, but on the other hand, everything has its limits. The media pretends it’s a hard truth, while we know it’s not,” he says in the Beau monde.

The truth always wins, Nick thinks. “In the end, people will also notice that there is no argument, because Simon and I continue to work together in so many areas.”

Friends?

But what about that friendship? “We’ve never made it a secret that we don’t knock each other’s doors,” says Nick. “We run into them regularly, because we are in the same group of friends.”

huh? Do they only see each other if they happen to be with mutual friends?! “We get along very well, but are not best friends 24/7. As colleagues we spend a lot of time together and then there are also days when you talk to each other a little less.”

Own way

Nick doesn’t even remember if he will continue to see Simon when they’re done with Nick & Simon. “For the past 16 years, we’ve had such huge work schedules that we don’t go out for dinner with the four of us on our one night off.”

He concludes: “Time will tell how our band will develop in the future. Because Nick & Simon are gone, it is possible that we will visit each other more often in private. It is also possible that everyone goes their own way.”
