Prior to the game, the Brabanters had not lost twelve games. FC Eindhoven quickly showed that good form, because Joey Sleegers opened the score in the twelfth minute. The striker only went to Jong Ajax goalkeeper Charlie Steford and passed him around. It was then a breeze to sign the 0-1.

Young Ajax participated well and tied the score just under ten minutes before the break. Sontje Hansen was knocked down after a combination in the penalty area. Referee Jannick van der Laan had no choice but to point to the penalty spot. Danilo took the opportunity by sending the keeper into the wrong corner.

At the start of the second half, Jong Ajax was again behind. The defense was poor with a free kick by Sleegers, after which Jort van der Sande could simply head in. Again, the team of trainer John Heitinga showed resilience. Hansen had a wonderful action in the 82nd minute, after which he found the far crossing with a fantastic shot: 2-2.
