“Nice compliment, but PSV is not on the agenda”, Wim Jonk says about a trainer vacancy

Now that it is known that Roger Schmidt will leave PSV after this season, speculation about his succession is in full swing. Aad de Mos named Wim Jonk as a suitable candidate. De Volendammer kept the boat off after the 2-0 win over Jong FC Utrecht.

Jonk started working in Volendam in the summer of 2019 with the aim of promoting to the Eredivisie within three years. The club is well on its way to achieving that goal this season. He says about his expiring contract: “We will talk further soon. The intention is good.”

In the tweet below, former trainer Aad de Mos explains that PSV must look for a trainer ‘with the PSV DNA’. De Mos: “I think he is suitable. He knows the club inside and out. He is a skilled trainer who plays good football. He has vision.”

On Monday FC Volendam will continue the competition with the away match against Roda JC. You can follow that duel directly in an extra radio broadcast of NH Sport.
