NHL star Connor McDavid married his longtime girlfriend Lauren Kyle to get engaged with.
Kyle posted pictures of the engagement on his social media channels.
– 22.6.23 was the best day of my life. I can’t put into words how happy I am when we get to spend the rest of our lives together. Almost eight years of growing up, happiness and so much love, Kyle wrote next to the photos.
Social media started buzzing immediately after the engagement news became public.
McDavid is one of the NHL’s biggest stars, but winning the Stanley Cup has eluded him. The Edmonton Oilers, represented by McDavid, have ended the Canadian era in the conference finals at the latest, and this spring was no exception.
The Oilers’ season ended in the second round of the playoffs at the hands of the eventual champion Vegas Golden Knights. Thus, McDavid has never received a Stanley Cup championship ring.
The couple received plenty of congratulations, but a considerable number of commentators began to vilify McDavid.
– Wow, he just couldn’t handle Jack Eichel getting the ring before him. Really sad when you really think about it, one user wrote.
– It’s great that he finally gets a ring, the other threw.
– Both Eichel and Kyle got a ring before McDavid, the third sneered.
The authors refer to when Eichel won the Stanley Cup for the first time in his career almost immediately in the ranks of the Golden Knights. At the beginning of his career, he represented the Buffalo Sabres, who have never fought for the Stanley Cup in the recent past. He moved to Vegas for the 2021-2022 season.
