After just one day with the Columbus Blue Jackets, star goaltender Jonathan Quick has been transferred again within the North American ice hockey professional league NHL.
The two-time Stanley Cup winner, who joined Columbus from the Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday morning, was passed on to the Vegas Golden Knights on Thursday. The Blue Jackets received goaltender Michael Hutchinson and a seventh-round pick in the 2025 draft.
The 37-year-old Quick, who was drafted by Los Angeles in 2005, has long been considered one of the best goalies in the league. He won the Stanley Cup with the Kings in 2012 and 2014.
Recently, however, the team from California was less successful, on Wednesday the Kings parted with their long-time keeper.
In general, there have been numerous transfers in the NHL in the past few days. Three-time Stanley Cup champion Patrick Kane joined the New York Rangers after 16 years with the Chicago Blackhawks, who had previously brought in top forward Vladimir Tarasenko from the St. Louis Blues.
Leon Draisaitl’s Edmonton Oilers strengthened their defense with Mattias Ekholm from the Nashville Predators.
