Edmonton Oilers Zach Hyman scored a really special goal in last night’s NHL round.

Hyman stood in front of the Los Angeles Kings goal as a masked man while a defenseman Evan Bouchard shot with superiority towards the goal. The puck changed direction on the way and bounced straight into Hyman’s chin.

The Canadian winger turned his head at just the right moment. The puck went through his chin and into the goal.

Hyman kept his chin down and didn’t start airing the 5-3 hit along with the others. The forward said after the match that he was fine.

– It was just a small wound. I moved at the same time as the puck and it bounced off my chin. If “Bouch” had gotten the shot at full speed, the result certainly wouldn’t have been the same, Hyman commented to Aftonbladet.

An important win

You can watch Hyman’s face paint in the video at 3:28. NHL can be watched on Viaplay and V Sport channels.

A teammate Mattias Ekholmia the incident was laughable.

– This is what happens in the playoffs. I think that was important for our performance.

The hit was Hyman’s second of the playoffs. The Oilers won the match 6–3.

Edmonton leads the series with a 3–2 win. Four wins are required to continue.
