The NHL playoff pairs were confirmed on Saturday.
Nashville Predators, represented by a number of Finnish players, managed to make it very difficult to make their own playoffs in the final match of the regular season.
Nashville led Arizona Coyotes 4-0 after the first set. Had the Predators won the match, it would have faced the Calgary Flames, third in the Western Conference and sixth in the regular season, in the first round of the playoffs.
However, Nashville collapsed and lost 4-5. Kirin was blocked by a Finnish watchkeeper who changed to Arizona Harri Säteri.
The loss means the Colorado Avalanche, which won the conference and finished second in the regular season, will face off in the opening round.
The Finnish encounter is delicious. Representing Colorado Mikko Rantanen and Artturi Lehkonen.
Nashville are playing instead Mikael Granlund, Eeli Tolvanen and Hair Saros.
Miro Heiskasen, Esa Lindellin, Jani Hakanpää, Roope Hintzin and Joel Kivirannan represented by Dallas Stars, in turn, plays against Flames.
Alexander Barkovin The Florida Panthers, skipper, won the regular season and will face the Washington Capitals next week.
The playoffs start in Finnish time on the night between Monday and Tuesday.
