German ice hockey star Leon Draisaitl suffered another setback in the NHL with the Edmonton Oilers. In the last home game of the year, the Canadians suffered a hearty 1:5 (0:3, 1:1, 0:1) against the Florida Panthers, Draisaitl remained without a scorer.
The Oilers lost for the second time in a row. Previously, Draisaitl and Co. had found their way back into the play-off ranks with eight wins in a row. As was the case in the 4:7 win against the Tampa Bay Lightning, Edmonton’s defense was once again causing problems.
Seider and Peterka also lose
The vice world champions Moritz Seider and John-Jason Peterka and their teams also lost. Defender Seider and the Detroit Red Wings lost 0-1 (0-1, 0-0, 0-0) to the Philadelphia Flyers. Peterka also remained scoreless with the Buffalo Sabers in their 0:2 (0:0, 0:1, 0:1) loss to the Arizona Coyotes. The Seattle Kraken had to do without goalkeeper Philipp Grubauer in the 2:3 (1:1, 0:1, 1:0, 0:0, 0:1) penalty shootout against the Los Angeles Kings. The man from Rosenheim continues to suffer from a lower body injury.
