NHL: Grubauer does not rule out World Cup participation for Germany

Before the start of the NHL playoffs with the Seattle Kraken, ice hockey goalkeeper Philipp Grubauer did not rule out a subsequent participation in the World Cup for Germany.

He said to the new national coach Harold Kreis, “If I’m fit and if it fits, I’ll always be there,” reported the 31-year-old.

For him, the focus is initially on the first round in the playoffs of the National Hockey League. The Kraken qualified for the first time in their second NHL season.

The World Cup in Finland and Latvia starts on May 12th. “You have to get through the second round first,” said Grubauer with a view to his possible participation. “There’s still a lot of time in between.”
