Joonas Donskoi announced the end of his career.

NHL forward Joonas Donskoi, 31, has said that he is ending his career. Donskoi announced his decision on Instagram.
– After several concussions, I have decided to stop playing professional hockey. It is extremely difficult to let go of something you have put your whole life into.
– But at this point this is the right decision in terms of my own well-being and my future, Donskoi wrote.

Donskoi, who represented Seattle, suffered a concussion in a practice game last season and did not play a single game in the regular season or playoffs.
– I got to live my dream of being an NHL player, for which I am very blessed and grateful. I believe I reached my potential, which was always my biggest goal.
Donskoi moved to the NHL in 2015. He played 474 regular season games over seven seasons, scoring 208 points. He played his last official match in the spring of 2022.
Donskoi, from Raahe, represented San Jose, Colorado and Seattle in the NHL. In the SM league, he played six seasons in Kärpi, where he won two championships.
In Leijon, Donskoi played the World Cup in 2015 and the World Cup in the fall of 2016.
