According to the NGO Global Witness, 177 environmental activists were murdered worldwide last year. The most dangerous country was Colombia, followed by Brazil and Mexico, the group announced on Wednesday when presenting its annual report. According to the report, 88 percent of all homicides were recorded in Latin America.
