NFT conference VeeCon attracts celebrities: This is how the NFT market is doing

VeeCon is a multi-day NFT conference featuring discussions and appearances from well-known and emerging personalities from business, marketing, innovation and pop culture. Among the guests were entrepreneur Randi Zuckerberg – sister of Mark Zuckerberg – TV star Neil Patrick Harris and also the CEO of the NFT project Pudgy Penguins, Luca Netz. The focus was on NFTs. It was only possible to take part in the conference if you had an official VeeCon NFT, the number of which was limited to 10,255. VeeCon took place last May in Indianapolis in the Lucas Oil Stadium.

Access only with NFT ticket?

In order to gain access to the NFT conference, participants had to present an NFT ticket. A worthwhile source of income for the organizers, because the organizers earn money from so-called “royalties” for each transaction that takes place on the secondary market – with every resale. What is fascinating is that the NFT tickets, which served as entry tickets to the event, are still being bought and sold on secondary markets even after the conference. Gary Vaynerchuck had already benefited from this before: in 2021, the VeeCon boss earned an additional USD 400,000 with his VeeCon NFT tickets from secondary market transactions alone.

This is how the VeeCon trade fair went

Above all, this year’s NFT conference offered stimulating presentations by thought leaders from the NFT and Web3 world. A panel discussion with Erick Calderon, founder of Art Blocks, the leading platform for generative art in the NFT market, was particularly interesting. Together with Betty, the founder of the NFT project Deadfellaz, he discussed why the NFT technology is a revolution in the classic art market will cause. VeeCon founder Gary Vaynerchuck also gave updates on his NFT project Veefriends, which he says is a modern “entertainment company” with a focus on children as a target group. Veefriends’ goal is to produce animated series for children using the Veefriends characters, thereby making Veefriends a mega-brand in the field of children’s entertainment. In order for this to succeed, a book deal was recently made with a publisher. The book will probably be on the market at the end of 2023.

Randi Zuckerberg believes NFTs have a future

According to Randi Zuckerberg, sister of Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg, NFTs will still play a big role in the future. In an interview with finanzen.net she emphasized that she finds the NFT market for art and tickets very exciting. When asked why the hype for NFTs has died down, she mentioned that the industry is not yet ready for mass adoption. Above all, she meant the lack of security in the NFT scene to date.
