NFL superstar hints at retirement soon

Odell Beckham Jr. has had mixed years. Although the NFL superstar won the Super Bowl with the Los Angeles Rams in 2022, a cruciate ligament rupture there brought the wide receiver off track. Now the former Pro Bowler could end his career after the coming season.

In April, Odell Beckham Jr. signed a one-year contract with the Baltimore Ravens. With the AFC team, the 30-year-old belongs to the extended circle of Super Bowl aspirants. It could be the last chance for the wide receiver to win the coveted Vince Lombardi Trophy a second time.

Because in an interview, the longtime New York Giant announced that the coming season could be his last in the NFL. “I think this is my last year,” Beckham told The Athletic, adding, “I’m going to give it my all this year and if something happens after that, we can go from there.”

NFL: Beckham has ‘been through a lot in recent years’

The three-time Pro Bowler leaves a back door open for a rethink. Apparently, the pass recipient himself did not think that Beckham would be able to attack again in the NFL after three serious injuries.

“I’ve been through a lot in the past few years and I thought it was over,” he admitted. “I didn’t want to get back on the horse and go through it all again.” Beckham last tore his cruciate ligament in the 2022 Super Bowl. He had already suffered the same injury in 2020.

Many NFL teams were therefore not sure whether the superstar could ever go to his breaking point again. But the Ravens seized the opportunity and brought Beckham to Maryland. At first he didn’t want to move to the east coast.

Only an offer with a salary of around $ 18 million including bonuses agreed with Beckham.
