NFL superstar Aaron Rodgers spoke to the New York Jets

NFL superstar Aaron Rodgers continues to keep his future plans a secret. In the background, however, the Green Bay Packers quarterback appears to be working on a trade that has been in the air for weeks.

Since the end of last season, Rodgers has kept his fans in the dark about whether he will have another season in the NFL. According to his own statement, he will not make any decision about it in the near future.

Away from the public, the 39-year-old is apparently working on continuing his professional career. As NFL reporter Trey Wingo reports, Rodgers met with the New York Jets on Monday to negotiate.

The Green Gang has reportedly been dealing with a commitment from the old master for some time and even let Derek Carr off the hook for him, who eventually switched to the New Orleans Saints.

In New York, Rodgers would meet Nathaniel Hackett, who has served as the Jets’ new offensive coordinator since the beginning of the year. The duo worked together at the Packers from 2019 to 2021.

In the 2020 and 2021 seasons, Rodgers was named the NFL’s MVP, thanks in part to Hackett’s good work. The two Californians also had a close friendship in Green Bay.

NFL superstar before new adventure

Prior to Monday’s call, NFL rules required Rodgers to obtain approval from his current employer to negotiate a trade with another team. Apparently, the Cheeseheads gave the green light in this regard because they are no longer planning with their longtime starting quarterback.

According to Packers insider Tom Silverstein, backup Jordan Love, who has been pawing behind Rodgers for three years, will be the new top dog on the pitch next season anyway.

“It seems apparent that the Packers will enter into discussions with Rodgers to state their desire for Love to take over,” the journalist wrote.
