Football pro Brian Robinson of the Washington Commanders has been shot multiple times in a robbery.
According to police, the running back was hit by several bullets in the legs in his first year in the NFL on Sunday evening, and a gun was found not far from the scene of the crime.
The team spoke of “non-life-threatening injuries”, the 23-year-old is in the hospital. Commanders head coach Ron Rivera tweeted: “I visited him. He is in good spirits and he asked me to thank everyone for the words of encouragement, prayers and support.”
According to Rivera, Robinson said he would “be back soon and get back to doing what he does best.” The ball carrier from Alabama was drafted in the third round.
