NFL star Aaron Rodgers feels no pressure to succeed

Aaron Rodgers had one of the worse seasons of his long career last year. After his move from the Green Bay Packers to the New York Jets, many NFL fans are expecting nothing less than a kind of resurrection for the quarterback. A-Rod, however, assesses the situation rather calmly.

In the preseason, Rodgers missed making it into the playoffs with the Packers. The 39-year-old was also plagued by several injuries, which is why he never found his usual form. However, the old master does not see himself as having any responsibility.

“I don’t feel like I need to recover or anything [Besonderes] do,” Rodgers said Thursday after practice. “I just have to play the way I can. I’ve been working my ass off over the last six months to try and bring a better product to the field than last year. And I expect that too.”

In order to achieve this goal, Rodgers worked unusually hard on himself in preparation for the season. The focus was particularly on communication with his new teammates.

“We’ve changed a lot of things. We’ve adapted signals that I’ve been using for years and that no longer exist,” said Rodgers. His hand signals were already classified as too complicated by the Jets professionals in advance. The quarterback obviously took this feedback to heart.

NFL: Aaron Rodgers is longing for his Jets debut

New York Jets fans will find out on Monday evening whether these adjustments have been successful. At the beginning of the week, the Gang Green starts the new NFL season against the Buffalo Bills. Aaron Rodgers is freaked out about the scheduling alone.

“’Monday Night Football’ is great,” enthused the California native. “You play in the league long enough, you want a lot of 1 o’clock games. But you don’t dream of playing the 1 o’clock games. You dream of playing ‘Monday Night Football’ and ‘Sunday Night Football.’ .”
