NFL referees allegedly asked Mike Evans for an autograph

NFL referees were cast in a questionable light, to say the least.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans was seen on video arguing with the refs. PDO

The NFL has begun an investigation into a social media video of two referees approaching a Tampa Bay Buccaneers star player Mike Evans after the game.

It is suspected that the umpires asked the star for an autograph, even though league rules state that umpires cannot ask for an autograph or any memorabilia from players or coaches.

The video shows two pinstripes yelling after Evans after the Buccaneers’ loss against the Carolina Panthers. In the stadium tunnel, the referees give him a piece of paper on which the player appears to be writing something. The video cuts out as Evans and the judges continue to make their way to the locker rooms.

The side judge turned out to be two judges Jeff Lamberth and linesman Tripp Sutter. Lamberth already has 20 seasons of officiating experience in the NFL and Sutter already has three.
