NFL player Jaylon Ferguson dies at age 26 | NOW

American football player Jaylon Ferguson has died at the age of 26. His NFL club Baltimore Ravens will announce that on Wednesday.

“We are heartbroken by the tragic passing of Jaylon Ferguson,” Baltimore Ravens said in a statement. “He was a gentle, respectful young man with a big smile and an infectious personality. Our condolences go out to his family and friends.”

According to Baltimore police, Ferguson was found unconscious at a house in the north of the city on Tuesday evening. Emergency services tried to retrain the NFL player, but were unsuccessful. Ferguson was pronounced dead at the scene by a doctor.

The police found no traces of a crime. An autopsy must determine the cause of death. Ferguson leaves behind three young children.

Ferguson was a Louisiana Tech star in the prestigious American college competition from 2015 through 2018. The Ravens chose the linebacker (a defensive position in American football) 85th in 2019 in the “draft,” an annual event where NFL clubs take turns choosing college players.

Ferguson has played 38 of the possible 49 NFL games for the Ravens in the last three years. In recent weeks, he has participated in all training sessions for the new season, which starts in September.
