Bill Belichick has not yet been able to land a new job as an NFL coach after parting ways with the New England Patriots. But the veteran is obviously not lacking in attractive offers.
For example, the eight-time Super Bowl champion is said to have received an offer from Peyton Manning. According to The Athletic reporter Andrew Marchand, the NFL icon is looking to work with Belichick.
“Peyton Manning is courting Bill Belichick to recruit the longtime New England Patriots head coach to Omaha Productions, Manning’s media company, people with knowledge of the plans told The Athletic,” Marchand reported.
In the past few months, Manning is known to have created several successful formats such as the Netflix documentary “Quarterback” and the “Manningcast”. So Belichick could definitely do worse. A deal is still by no means within reach.
“A collaboration between Belichick and Manning is one of many options that Belichick, considered by many to be the greatest NFL coach of all time, has on the table after nearly five decades on the sidelines,” Marchand said.
NFL: Belichick’s son confirms great interest
After the Patriots’ exit, however, the other NFL teams were noticeably reticent when it came to considering Belichick for their vacant head coach positions. The 71-year-old has now reoriented himself anyway.
Steve Belichick, Bill’s son, recently explained on the “Green Light with Chris Long” podcast that his father is “definitely pursuing other opportunities,” including an analyst job in television.
As Marchand learned, Bill Belichick had already told the bosses at NBC and CBS “that he had no interest in being part of a weekly Sunday studio show.”
