Footballer Dominik Eberle has found a new club in the US professional league NFL.
The Detroit Lions confirmed the commitment of the kicker from Nuremberg on Friday (local time). The 26-year-old was accepted into the Practice Squad.
Most recently, Eberle was active with the Green Bay Packers, but was sorted out again in June after just four months. The Lions, who also have German-American wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown under contract, start the new season against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.
Eberle made his NFL debut last season. Shortly after Christmas he scored two field goals and five extra points in the Houston Texans jersey against the Los Angeles Chargers (41:29). It was his only mission so far.
