Aaron Rodgers’ uncertain future continues to have the NFL in suspense. New York Jets are considered a candidate for the superstar’s signing. A legend sends a clear warning to his ex-team.
Are the New York Jets and Aaron Rodgers incompatible? At least that’s what NFL icon Joe Klecko, who played defensive end for the Jets between 1977 and 1987, believes.
“I don’t think Rodgers fits in with the young players. I experienced that with myself when we came up as a young team and started winning. We all worked together and we went up together so it was a good fit “said the ex-pro on the “Zach Geld Show” on “CBS Sports Radio”.
Klecko even went one step further. In his opinion, Rodgers could “absolutely ruin” the New York Jets’ locker room.
“[Garrett] Wilson was voted Offensive Rookie of the Year. I can’t see him coming back into the huddle and Rodgers criticizing him for running the wrong route. That won’t fit. I can’t imagine it,” Klecko explained his thesis.
NFL: Derek Carr instead of Aaron Rodgers?
In addition to NFL superstar Rodgers, Derek Carr is also a candidate for the vacant quarterback position with the New York Jets.
“I could get a player like [Derek] Introduce Carr, who’s an All-Pro,” Klecko said. “He’s not an MVP, but he’s had some great years.”
Carr has played for the Las Vegas Raiders for the past several years. After the past season, the separation between franchise and quarterback took place. Alongside the New York Jets, the New Orleans Saints are in the draw for the 31-year-old.
As a free agent, Carr is free to choose his future employer in the NFL.
