NFL icon Richard Sherman calls for historic sacking from the Los Angeles Chargers

In a memorable Thursday Night Game, the Los Angeles Chargers fell to the Las Vegas Raiders 21:63. The first half in particular was a revelation from the guests. The criticism from outside was correspondingly great. NFL legend Richard Sherman even called for a historic ejection at halftime.

The former cornerback for the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers works as an analyst for Amazon Prime. The station broadcasts the NFL’s Thursday Night Games. In the halftime analysis, Sherman didn’t say anything good about the Chargers and focused primarily on head coach Brandon Staley as the main responsible person.

“Brandon Staley, and I hate to say this because you usually never demand anyone’s job. But they (the Chargers) should make history and sack him at halftime,” the former pass defender said.

At that point, the Chargers were trailing by an incredible 42 points, the second-largest halftime deficit in NFL history.

NFL: Should Brandon Staley fear for his job?

Of course, Brandon Staley wasn’t fired during halftime. However, it is at least doubtful whether his job is secured in the long, medium or even short term. The Chargers’ head coach has been criticized for a long time, and it is not out of the question that the slap against the Raiders will be the last straw.

Staley himself doesn’t seem so sure anymore either. When asked if he would still be the Chargers’ coach tomorrow, he replied: “I don’t know.” However, the trainer appeared combative and assured that he was still the right person for the job.

“Yes, I know what I have achieved here over the last few years,” said the head coach. “Games like this happen to every coach in the league, it’s part of the sport,” explained the trainer.
