Aaron Rodgers has only been a New York Jets player for a few weeks. The NFL quarterback has apparently changed his new team from the ground up. A teammate raves about his influence.
Solomon Thomas joined the Jets in March 2022, in the pre-Aaron Rodgers era. The defensive tackle apparently met a very insecure team at the time.
However, with the arrival of the new play caller, the mood in Gang Green has improved considerably, he says.
“The cabin is humming right now – the building is humming – and it’s humming for a reason,” Thomas sang in praise of Rodgers on ESPN.
“His leadership, his knowledge, his way of playing the game – you know he’s going to score points and you know he’s going to play smart football. It brings a new youthfulness to the team, even for the veterans. “
The fact that Rodgers can still transfer so much enthusiasm to his teammates at almost 40 should surprise many football fans. Especially since the native Californian didn’t really stand out with the Green Bay Packers for his diligence and cheerfulness in the preparation.
NFL: Aaron Rodgers pushes his offense with trivia questions
The change of scenery, however, seems to have done Rodgers a lot of good. In contrast to his last years in Wisconsin, the signal caller is doing the full pre-season in New York. He also shows unusual initiative on the day.
The quarterback puts his offense through its paces off the field. “The players have to be careful because Rodgers is walking around the room questioning players from different position groups,” said ESPN reporter Rich Cimini.
“He asks a player his assignment for a particular play and then changes it by testing the same player how he would adapt if he changed plays,” Cimini continued.
